25 Jan Medical benefits of massage with 3G Cardio Vibration Machine
Massage therapy has come a long way from simply a husband asking a wife for a back rub, or vice versa.
An ever-growing collection of research and medical evidence shows that regular massage therapy can improve people’s health and quality of life. According to the MayoClinic.com, “Massage is no longer available only through luxury spas and upscale health clubs. Today, massage therapy is offered in businesses, clinics, hospitals and even airports. If you’ve never tried massage, learn about the possible health benefits of massage and what to expect during a massage therapy session.”
Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating the skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments, as defined by the Mayo Clinic. Massage therapists typically use their hands and fingers for massage, but may also use their forearms, elbows and even feet. Massage may range from light stroking to deep pressure techniques.
Many people don’t have the money or time to have regular sessions with a
licensed massage therapist.
However, many of the benefits of the traditional massage can be obtained in the comfort of your own home whenever you want from vertical-based vibration machines, such as the 3G Cardio AVT 5.0 Vibration Machine and 3G Cardio AVT 6.0 Vibration Machine.
Not only can a person get a great workout from a vibration machine, by changing the settings to “massage” they can get many of the benefits of a traditional massage.
The machine can be put on settings that may provide benefits such as helping you to relax, improving circulation, helping with pain management, and improving chronic conditions such as back pain and even wound healing.
How does vibration machine massage therapy work?
Depending on the hertz settings you choose, the length of time you use it and parts of body in contact with the vibration machine, vibration machine massage can provide a number of different benefits.
People may find a vibration machine massage can stimulate or calm the body’s muscles and tissues.
When the body’s soft tissue muscles are massaged, electrical signals are transmitted both to the local area and throughout the body. These signals can help heal damaged muscles by improving circulation, clearing waste products via the lymphatic system, boosting the immune system, reducing pain and tension, and inducing an overall calming effect. Massage has also been found to improve one’s mood by stimulating the release of endorphins (natural painkillers and mood elevators) and reducing levels of certain stress hormones. Although massage affects the body as a whole, it particularly influences the activity of the musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems
Effects on Circulation:
Good circulation is extremely important to having good health. Studies have shown that by using whole body vibration training, a person can improve their circulation up to 30 percent in muscles (Rittweger, J., Beller, G. and Felsenberg, D. (1999), Acute Physiological effects of exhaustive whole-body vibration exercise in man. Clinical Physiology
20(2), 134-142).
When muscles are trained using conventional methods, only as little as 20 percent of the muscle fibers are used, compared to up to 95 percent with Whole Body Vibration training, also known as Accelerated Vibration Training.
Accelerated Vibration Training using the 3G Cardio AVT 5.0 Vibration Machine and 3G Cardio AVT 6.0 Vibration Machine may support a healthy circulatory system.
Another study on effects of vertical-based vibration training on circulation also showed significantly improved circulation. Research by Lohman et al. (2007) evaluated 45 subjects who were randomly separated into three groups. It was concluded that short massage sessions on a vibration machine significantly increased skin blood flow on the lower
extremities, such as the calves.
A similar study by Maloney-Hinds et al. (2008) of 18 subjects concluded a significant increases in skin blood flow after massage at both 30 and 50 Hertz. The highest increase was found after five minutes of massage .
Effects on immune system:
Massage has been shown in studies to improve immune system health, according to research published in the Journal of Neuroscience, 1996, and
Psychosomatic Medicine, 2000. When the muscles are activated they cause the body to circulate otherwise passive fluids that carry toxins and other waste products away from
tissues.
When people exercise it causes the body to increase its workload, which forces a greater cardiac output. The circulatory system over time gets used to exercise by expanding it capillary density in muscles and, in the process, becomes more efficient in oxygen delivery and waste removal. The heart gets stronger and circulation improves.
Accelerated vibration training is an excellent way to provide the exercise and massage combination that improves circulation and reduces the effects of limited circulation.
While accelerated vibration training does not cure diseases, it may help reduce symptoms of many problems that are directly related to poor circulation. These diseases include osteoporosis, hypertension, high cholesterol, varicose veins, and type 2 diabetes.
Effects on bone health:
One of the reasons people’s bones and circulatory systems weaken over time is because they don’t get regular exercise, especially among the elderly. With Accelerated vibration training (AVT) even senior citizens who had become too weak to exercise with many conventional methods are able to once again realize the benefits of exercise again.
Effects on back pain:
Some people have said that massage actually does more for back pain than chiropractic care and acupuncture, including researchers at the Group Health Center for Health Studies in Seattle.
Massage therapy reduced chronic back pain in relation to other complementary techniques, according to a 2000 report in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Several studies indicate that massage reduces levels of the stress hormone cortical, while also increasing the feel-good hormones serotonin and dopamine.
Massage also increases blood flow to the muscles, which is believed to help them heal faster.
More good news about relieving pain
If massage can help with back pain that much, it obviously can have positive effects on a plethora of other ailments that bother people.
From strained muscles, to migraines, to even cancer, massage can improve your situation, Tiffany Field, Ph.D., director of the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine, told CNN.com.Oncology patients show less pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety and depression following massage therapy, according to a study by Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 2004, and a report in the Journal of Nursing Scholarship, 2002.
Massage has also been credited with lessening the effects of fibromyalgia,
which can cause overall body soreness. Massage may reduce muscle soreness through increased blood flow to muscles. The benefits of even a few massage treatments may last up to a year, Partap Khalsa, Ph.D., and a chiropractor and a program officer at theNational Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and
Alternative Medicine, told CNN.com.
Effect on mood:
With a better body chemistry and relaxed muscles, here’s one more thing
that not surprisingly improves with regular massage: your mood.
A reduction in serotonin and dopamine can reduce the level of stress,
anxiety, and depression that people feel.
“We know that the right side of the frontal lobe of the brain is more
active when we’re sad, and the left side’s activated when we’re happy,”
Field said. “Our studies have observed that massage decreases activity in
the right lobe and increases functioning in the left.
“The well-being people feel after a massage is a big reason why some
hospitals offer it to anxious patients preparing for surgery and cancer
patients going through chemo.”
NOTE: Just as you would drink water before and after a workout and
traditional massage, people should do the same before and after a 3G
Cardio AVT Vibration Machine massage because it will also work your
muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems. Unless mentioned
specifically as pertaining to vibration training, the studies cited in
this article were done in conjunction with traditional massage therapy.
However, the 3G Cardio AVT Vibration Machine may give a person many of the
same effects on muscles and circulation as traditional massages, making
some of the results, theories and concepts applicable to vibration
machines as well, according to Angela Dorksen, licensed massage therapist.
